Executive Team (3 positions)

The Executive Team is comprised of the ASGCU President, Executive Vice President, Operations Vice President, Administrative Vice President, and Chief of Staff. The Executive Team is responsible for overseeing all the planning and organizing of ASGCU events and programming.

President (Elected Position)

The President is the Chief Executive Officer of the Association and is responsible for executing all its policies and objectives. The President shall be the chief spokesperson of the Association and all its members. This position is elected by the student body during the election season:

  • 25 weekly office hours
  • Must live on campus
  • Required to return to campus during summer for training
  • External time commitment will not exceed 10 hours per week
  • Must be available to stay on campus through May 5, 2022 for training
Executive Vice President (Elected Position)

The Executive Vice President shall be the chief spokesperson of the Senate and will preside over and serve as the President of the Senate at all regular and special sessions. This individual will work closely with the President and Administrative Vice President. This position is elected by the student body during the election season.

Operations Vice President

The Operations Vice President oversees the Executive Branch (PR and IA) and all its team members. This member is responsible for leading the branch by providing exceptional leadership, mentorship, and guidance to all members of the branch.

Administrative Vice President

The Administrative Vice President is responsible for overseeing all programs and services that this branch provides to the student body. This position is responsible for supporting all directors and team members in the branch through mentoring and advocacy. The Administrative Vice President also aids the President in carrying out the duties of that office.

    Chief of Staff

    The Chief of Staff is responsible for maintaining the organization and documentation of the ASGCU Executive team. This member provides support to the Executive team and prepares agendas and takes notes during Executive Team meetings.

        Executive Branch

        Senate (12 positions)

        More than any other team or branch in ASGCU, the Senate’s job is to listen to the voices/opinions of GCU undergraduates and find new ways to respond to their needs, concerns, and aspirations. Many of ASGCU’s new initiatives are born in the Senate: an incubator of ideas and plans to improve GCU policies, procedures, and programs. As part of the legislative branch, the Senate is primarily responsible for passing legislation regulating all ASGCU operations and its lobbying efforts with university officials.

        Senate Director

        The Senate Director works to assist the Executive Vice President in managing and leading the Senators.

          Assistant Senate Director

          The Assistant Senate Director works to assist the Senate Director in managing and leading public senate meetings along with assisting the senators.

            Senators (10)

            Senators find and develop multiple avenues for connecting with students, sparking and collecting their ideas, and supporting them in their own projects to improve the GCU experience. Senators are responsible for directly representing and engaging with the specific constituencies they represent. They also hold Student Interaction hours each week with their assigned living areas.

              ELECTIONS (1 positions)

              Elections is responsible for the operational components of all ASGCU elections. Elections is responsible for coordinating all elections, marketing, and events for students throughout the university.

              Elections Director

              The Elections Director is responsible for coordinating all elections, marketing, and events for students throughout the university. This Director is responsible for coordinating the ASGCU Inauguration. This Director also oversees the homecoming court nominations and the voting process.

              First generation (1 positions)

              First Generation Director

              The First Generation Director will work directly with First Generation Students across campus to provide easier access to resources needed as well sharing community with events across the school year.

              Operations Branch

              Community Engagement (3 positions)

              The Community Engagement Team promotes the mission and vision of ASGCU by hosting community events and interactions. The goal of the community engagement team is to ensure that students feel connected, heard, and encouraged on campus.

              Community Engagement Director

              The Community Engagement Director is responsible for planning and overseeing ASGCU special events (ex: Midnight Breakfast), campaigns, and initiatives that promote ASGCU goals overall. As the name implies, the main purpose of the Community Engagement Director is to engage GCU students and connect them to ASGCU. This director oversees two team members and works closely with the Marketing Director.

              Community Engagement Coordinator (2 positions)

              The Community Engagement Coordinators assist the Director with all Community Engagement objectives. These coordinators oversee the planning and execution of specific events and campaigns as determined by the Community Engagement Director.

              Internal Affairs (3 positions)

              The Internal Affairs Team serves the members of ASGCU by facilitating a vibrant culture that is both professional and fun. Internal Affairs is responsible for planning internal events and meetings, and for maintaining and organizing all ASGCU’s important documents and materials.

              Internal Affairs Director

              The Internal Affairs Director is responsible for planning and organizing ASGCU monthly meetings, bondings, and internal events. The Internal Affairs Director oversees two team members (the Internal Affairs Coordinators). This director is also responsible for creating a vibrant ASGCU office culture, which includes coordinating decorations, furniture, cleanliness, etc.

              Internal Affairs Coordinator (2 positions)

              The Internal Affairs Coordinators work together to assist the Director with all Internal Affairs objectives. This often involves planning internal events together and coordinating different aspects of internal ASGCU goals.

              Marketing (4 positions)

              The Marketing Team promotes the mission and vision of ASGCU by ensuring that students are aware of the resources available to them and the events and initiative programs ASGCU hosts. The Marketing Team is also responsible for streamlining communication between the organization and the student body.

              Marketing Director

              The Marketing Director is responsible for planning and overseeing all ASGCU content relating to the Operations Branch. This involves coordinating photoshoots and video shoots for specific content, as well as coordinating all ASGCU Social Media Content. The Marketing Director also oversees three team members (Social Media Assistant, Website Design Manager, and Stall Stalk Coordinator).

              Content Coordinator

              The Content Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Marketing Director with all content production. This involves creating social media posts and coordinating different aspects of content production, such as organizing photo and video shoots.

              Web Design Manager

              The Website Design Manager is primarily responsible for editing, updating, and creating content for the ASGCU website. This team member reports to the Marketing Director but also works closely with the Operations Branch professional staff to accomplish ASGCU website objectives.

              Stall Talk Coordinator

              The Stall Talk Coordinator is responsible for creating and editing all ASGCU monthly Stall Talks. ASGCU Stall Talks are creative and engaging publications that showcase ASGCU events first and foremost, but also other student events around campus. This team member reports to the Marketing Director and works closely with the Operations Branch professional staff to finalize the Stall Talk production.

              Administrative Branch

              Freshman Class Council (2 positions) 

              Freshman Class Council is a team of thirty freshmen and two directors. This team provides freshmen with leadership skills, event experience, and mentorship from established student leaders.

              Freshman Class Council Director (2 positions)

              The Freshman Class Council Directors are responsible for recruiting the Freshman Class Council through the application process. Directors lead weekly meetings with the Freshman Class Council covering topics such as professional development and event planning. Directors also assist FCC in organizing one event each semester that is targeted towards benefitting the GCU Freshman Class.

              Student Health Advocacy (2 positions)

              Passionate about mental, physical, and spiritual health? The Student Health Advocacy Team may be for you! This team cares for the health of the student body by overseeing initiatives such as Student Health Week, Its On Us, Drug and Alcohol Awareness, etc.

              Student Health Advocacy Director

              The Student Health Advocacy Director oversees all ASGCU initiatives, social media, and otherwise, related to the health of the student body. This Director will meet monthly with stakeholders such as Student Care and the Health Center. This Director will also partner with the Administrative Vice President to lead and mentor the Student Health Advocacy Coordinator.

              Student Health Advocacy Coordinator

              The Student Health Advocacy Director oversees all ASGCU initiatives, social media, and otherwise, related to the health of the student body. This Director will meet monthly with stakeholders such as Student Care and the Health Center. This Director will also partner with the Administrative Vice President to lead and mentor the Student Health Advocacy Coordinator.
              15 Weekly Office Hours

              Sustainability (2 positions)

              ASGCU’s Sustainability Team exists to further green initiatives on GCU’s campus. This team oversees Green Week, ASGCU’s sustainability awareness week, etc. They also take lead on projects such as campus recycling, clean energy, and compositing.

              Sustainability Director

              The Sustainability Director is responsible for proposing ideas, models, and plans to implement environmental practices on GCU’s campus. This Director promotes the “sustainability mindset” on campus using social media and marketing campaigns. This Director plans and executes “Green Week”, ASGCU’s sustainability awareness week. This Director also meets with stakeholders such as Campus Rec and Administration as necessary. Lastly, the Sustainability Director educates the student body on evidence-based methods of sustainability and partners with the Administrative Vice President to lead and mentor the Sustainability Coordinator.

              Sustainability Coordinator

              The Sustainability Coordinator aids the Sustainability Director in all related programs and services. This Coordinator will meet weekly with the director to provide input on upcoming campaigns. This Coordinator will also execute administrative tasks on behalf of the Sustainability Director, such as scheduling meetings and carrying out various office tasks.
